A Solaris Package Repository

This repository is very much a work in progress. Any software that I compile for my own use ends up packaged and made available here. So far, the only supported platform is Solaris 10 running on x86 hardware but I am aiming to extend this to include (at least) Solaris 10 running on SPARC 64-bit hardware. I have the hardware to do this but I haven't yet installed an operating system on it so be patient.

This is not an attempt to substitute for the repository at www.sunfreeware.com and it is unlikely that you will find any package here that is available there. This is all stuff that I compiled and packaged because it was not available from that repository. If you are looking for a Solaris package then I strongly recommend using it as your first port of call.

Effort is being made to make the archive broadly compliant with Blastwave's pkutil and related utilities. This is a still to be completed and verified but package names are now in line with what the utilities expect. A compliant index file will be available soon and instructions will be provided for using pkgutil with this repository when the repository itself is ready.

All packages install in /usr/local/packagename. They were compiled by me and for me so if they are useful to you then all's well and good but I take no responsibility for any problems, damage or other inconvenience that installing them on your system may cause. That is to say that you use anything that you download from here at your own risk.

That being said, if you need any help, get in touch and I'll do what I can to help you out. Just remember, I'm not tech support but if I think it's a fair question, I'll do my best to answer.
